A former commissioner in Benue State, Mrs. Rebecca Akpedzan has slammed the Federal Government for introducing vote buying across the country.

Akpedzan, who held office during Governor George Akume’s administration also alleged that the money given to traders(TraderMoni) by Vice President Yemi Osibanjo was a tactical way of buying their votes.

She also said that with the way Benue people were slaughtered by Fulani herdsmen this year, any person in the state voting the All Progressive Congress is committing suicide.

Akpedzan, who is the first state secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state, said that the experience of the people of the state in the hands of herdsmen, with no support from the APC-led Federal Government, made the people believe that the ‘APC is a Miyetti Allah party.’

“Any sane Benue person that votes for the APC is committing suicide, given the pains we have gone through. Even if you were not directly affected by the crisis, at least your neighbour or somebody from your village was affected.”
