As the ongoing strike by the Nigerian Labour Congress(NLC) intensifies, members of the NLC stormed the Murtala Mohammed International airport and attempted to shut it down. This resulted into a fight.
Yesterday, the NLC commenced total strike over the lingering national minimum wage issue, shutting down all activities by government and oil sector workers, leading to speculations that fuel supply and banking services may be affected.
The warning strike commenced midnight on Wednesday over the federal government’s failure to reconvene the tripartite committee constituted November last year to recommend a new national minimum wage for workers in the country.
On Wednesday, a last ditch effort by the federal government to avert the strike ended in a stalemate,
