There are indications that PDP chieftain and former governor of Kano State, Ibrahim Shekarau may not be defecting to the APC anymore after the party chairman, Prince Uche Secondus brokered a reconciliation between Shekarau and another former Governor, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso.
Uche Secondus announced the reconciliation yesterday via a statement embedded in the tweet below:
The NWC assures that no stone will be left unturned in the overall quest to bring good governance to Kano state, while putting in place machinery to hedge the infiltration of fifth columnists into the party’s fold in the state. pic.twitter.com/qQNG6b3Uzu

A statement by an apparent PDP supporter on a popular social media platform reads:
“The Shekarau PDP Faction and the Kwankwaso PDP Faction have been reconciled.
The two factions have now been incorporated into an Expanded and much larger Kano State PDP Caretaker Committee to accommodate all interest. All Pending Court Cases have thus been withdrawn.”
Recall that Today’s Echo reported yesterday that an online news outlet had hinted that Ibrahim Shekarau will announce his decision to defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, yesterday following the crisis that rocked the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state.
According to Daily Nigerian, Mr Shekarau had been in contact with vice president Yemi Osinbajo since the gale of defection struck across both ruling and opposition party.
Meanwhile, Ibrahim Shekarau has denied reports that he is dumping the PDP.
