President Muhammadu Buhari again on Monday met the nation’s security chiefs in what was believed to be part of efforts aimed at curtailing the security challenges being witnessed across the country, with particular attention to the attacks believed to be perpetuated by Fulani herdsmen in some parts of the country.
The Chief of Staff Mallam Abba Kyari, National Security Adviser (NSA), Major General Babagana Monguno (rtd), Minister of Defence Brigadier General Mansur Dan Ali, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Geoffrey Onyeama, Minister of Interior Lt Gen Abdulrahman Dambazau were present at the meeting.
The meeting, which was also attended by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, was held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
After the meeting, the security chiefs refused to reveal the details of the closed-door meeting to newsmen. This means that at present, no one can tell why the President called them in.
