The recently sacked Director-General of the Department of State Service, Lawal Daura, has been reportedly arrested and detained by Nigeria Police Force immediately after he was relieved of his duty by Acting President Yemi Osinbajo.

Saharara Reporters stated that Daura was arrested by a combined team of the Police and the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) for “breaching national security”. It also reported that news of the arrest sparked wild jubilations at the DSS headquarters.

Daura is currently being detained at the SARS headquarters.

Recall that the DSS and the Police had locked down the National Assembly on Tuesday, even as the Senate leadership had scheduled a meeting to hold in the chambers in the afternoon.

Lawmakers who came with the hope of attending the meeting were denied entry into the Assembly by the security operatives.
