Nigerians on social media have reacted to President Muhammadu Buhari’s formal declaration to run for the presidency again in 2019. This follows Buhari’s decision to put an end to speculations surrounding his interest in returning to power at the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Executive Council (NEC) meeting which held on Monday.
The reactions have been mostly negative for obvious reasons, top of which is the fact that the President spent almost half of his current tenure outside of the country tending to his health crisis. Also, ‘change’ administration has not ‘changed’ the plight of the common man. Although his stance against corruption has been the strongest selling point of his APC led government, this has been described as ineffective by international bodies like Transparency International; and as one-sided by the opposition.

wolfoftechstreetPMB has announced his intention to return back to Daura so that our man @sowore2019 can take over the mantle of leadership. God bless @sowore2019!
Since Buhari hasn’t initiated and completed even one project as #BuhariChallenge proves, I urge him to use 2019 election to redeem himself. Initiate and complete a free election and give Nigerians the opportunity to fulfill their desire to retire you from politics next February!

One of the most exasperating things about Buhari is this impression he creates that he is doing the office and Nigerians a huge favour just by sleeping and waking up in the Villa. Said impression is amplified by the worst cohort of presidential aides in living memory.

Our simple campaign against Buhari should be:
NEVER AGAIN

Nelson Mandela could have won second term easily, but he stepped down. He said “ At 75 I should be at home with my grandkids, not fighting for power”.
Buhari at 87 sees nothing wrong in struggling for power with the younger ones. Greed is one reason why Nigeria is a failed state

Buhari is coming back to finally put Nigeria on the map.
Map of destruction 😭😭

Buhari is a proud member of the rogue nation. Same man that said old age will limit his performance in 2015 and spent half of his term in hospital wants to seek for re-election at football age of 76.

Now that @MBuhari has decided to run in 2018.
I remember those who joked about GEJ that said if someone failed a class; shouldn’t he be allowed to repeat.
Should we allocate the same rhetoric to this guy? #Buhari #sarcasm
