SWITZERLAND, MAY 30 – In the aftermath of the rumoured arrest of former Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commision, former Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose has thrown a jab at him.

There were media reports that Mr Okorocha was arrested alongside his wife, Nkechi, and two others by the EFCC on Thursday. The commission also reportedly sealed his Eastern Palm University Ogboko.

However, EFCC’s spokesman, Tony Orilade, refuted the claims, describing the report as “fake news”.

Orilade said, ”Such report that Okorocha and wife have been arrested is fake news, disregard it.”

Ayodele Fayose, who was once arrested by the commission shortly after completing his tenure as governor, wrote on Twitter about Okorocha’s rumoured arrest:

“Just reading that Okorocha was arrested by EFCC. True or not, we knew this day will come. However, I welcome him to the EFCC Alumni & enjoin the commission not to look away from Amosun too. While I encourage them to surrender themselves as I did,I welcome Mr Okorocha to the club.”
