SWITZERLAND, AUGUST 5 – The publisher of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore, who also doubles as the convener of the RevolutionNow movement has said there would be a mass protest nationwide on Wednesday, 5th August (Today) against President Buhari’s government.
This was contained in a statement made available to newsmen via his official verified Facebook page where he gave vivid reasons for the proposed protest.
Today’s Echo gathers that members of the movement are already mobilizing across the country in preparation for a day of protests.
“Today is the D-DAY, #RevolutionNow action nationwide and globally. We urge ALL Nigerian citizens home and abroad to come out to undertake mass action against tyranny, corruption, incompetence, wickedness in the highest places! We urge security forces to act rationally. FREEDOM!” Sowore tweeted this morning.
Sowore was arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS), around the same time last year before he could organize his RevolutionNow protests in August 2019, spending months in detention.
