PDP chieftain and popular critic of the ruling APC, Reno Omokri has criticized president Buhari in a series of tweets after American president, Donald Trump called him ‘lifeless’.
Trump had warned his aides that he never wanted to meet someone so lifeless again.
The first meeting, with Nigeria’s ailing 75-year-old Muhammadu Buhari in April, ended with the US president telling aides he never wanted to meet someone so lifeless again, according to three people familiar with the matter, the newspaper claimed.
Reacting to the development, Omokri said:
@realDonaldTrump called Nigeria’s President @MBuhari “a lifeless person” and said “I don’t want to meet him again”! This is the same person @OfficialAPCNg is promoting for a 2nd term? No wonder our economy is so lifeless that 10 million Nigerians lost their jobs! No wonder the @MBuhari administration said it is better to give land for cattle ranching than to die! This seats well with @realDonaldTrump’s judgment that President @MBuhari is a “lifeless” person. That is why he wants us to give our life for our land.”
He further added:
“Even after walking 800 meters,
@realDonaldTrump called @MBuhari a “lifeless person”! Before you attack Trump, remember that Buhari appointed dead men into boards and other sensitive positions. Does that not vindicate Donald Trump’s position about him being lifeless? If the leader of the Free World can’t stand @MBuhari and believes that he is absolutely ‘lifeless’, can Nigeria expect any cooperation from the West with Buhari in charge. We need an assertive leader who can look Trump in the eye and say NO! Buhari is not that leader”
According to him, “If President
@MBuhari asks US President, @realDonaldTrump to apologise for calling him “completely lifeless”, then Trump should ask Buhari if he has apologised for calling Nigerian youths lazy. And to those #LazyNigerianYouths, leave Buhari to fight this fight alone!”
