Over 2,000 ex-Nigerian Airways workers have received 50% of their pension: Finance Minister

The acting Minister of Finance, Zainab Shamsuna Ahmed has said that over 2,000 former workers of the defunct Nigerian Airways have now received at least 50 percent of their pension.

Part of a statement from Ahmed available to Today’s Echo, reads:

“Happy to announce that we are committed to keeping to our promises of ensuring social justice never eludes our people again. Over 2,000 Nigerians now have access to their entitlements, after 16 years.”

In October, 2018, the Federal Government began paying the arrears of former Nigeria airline workers.
