The PDP has released a video purportedly showing officers of the Nigerian police force in a disproportionate use of force on civilians. According to reports, the military and police have taken over some streets in Ile Ife in a heavy show of force, shooting sporadically to prevent voters from coming out.
#OsunDecide2018 Ahead of the scheduled Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018 Supplementary Election in Osun State, the @PoliceNG is parading Ile-Ife, Mayfair, shooting sporadically to scare voters from coming out. This is shameful and highly unacceptable. @inecnigeria @UN @realDonaldTrump pic.twitter.com/MyDNoiJp0y

Punch reported earlier today that observers going to Orolu to cover the election were arrested by policemen and later released with an instruction that they should go back. DIG said it was not part of the instructions given to the policemen.
The Cable reported that at Ward 8, unit 3, Kajola village in Orolu LGA, thugs have driven voters out of the village. No one can access the polling unit, as there is barricade everywhere.
Also earlier today, popular musician, Davido alleged that the military has sealed off a polling unit in Orolu.
There are also pictures on the internet purportedly showing the police brutalizing civilians who had come to vote .
Today’s Echo cannot independently verify these allegations at the time of filing this report. However, if they are true, it is despicable and should be condemned.
