Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo has just concluded a 2-day visit to areas affected by recent attacks from armed Fulani herdsmen.
Osinbajo posted a series of statements Twitter about his trip:
“The President has directed that I oversee the rehabilitation of these communities, ensure that our people can go back home, restore their farms, support traders and ensure the continuing education of our children. President
@MBuhari has approved 10 Billion towards this effort.”
“No one can quantify the pain and loss that has been felt by our brothers, sisters and children but we will rebuild and restore places that have been destroyed. It is not a favour from Government but a right as citizens of Nigeria”
“While in Benue, I also took the opportunity to meet with traditional, religious and others leaders in the State in a townhall meeting. We noted your grievances and hope that we remember that what binds us together far outweighs the things that seek to divide us.”
