In what turned out to be like a spectacle from a Nollywood movie, a former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Olisa Metuh, was on Monday produced on a stretcher before the Federal High Court in Abuja for his ongoing trial in respect of the N400m he allegedly received from the Office of the National Security Adviser in 2014.
Metuh arrived court barefooted, in an ambulance, attended by medical personnel who helped wheel him up the flight of stairs leading to the court room.
The trial judge, Justice Okon Abang, had to adjourn the matter due to Metuh’s condition.
After the matter was adjourned, Metuh was taken to the waiting ambulance of the National Hospital, Abuja. He was driven off in the ambulance around 10:27am haven spent less than an hour in court.
The case was adjourned till March 14.
