Obi dispels heart attack rumours, appears at Atiku’s Election Tribunal hearing

Vice Presidential candidate of the opposition PDP in the 2019 elections, Peter Obi appeared at the Election tribunal on Wednesday morning to attend hearing on the petition of the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

Obi’s appearance will dispel rumours that he has suffered a heart attack after news wafted to the media that he was hospitalized on Tuesday.

The PDP and its presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, had jointly filed a petition to challenge the outcome of the poll which the Independent National Electoral Commission declared was won by President Muhammadu Buhari and his All Progressives Congress

The tribunal is made up of 5 Justices as follows:
1.Justice Zanaib Bulkachuwa
2.Justice Abdul Aboki
3.Justice Peter Ige
4.Justice Joseph Ikyegh
5.Justice Samuel Oseji.

The Tribunal is chaired by Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa (the appeal court president)

President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa, has assured that justice would be done to all parties in the four petitions filed before the tribunal.

In her speech at the inaugural sitting of the tribunal, Bulkachuwa assured Nigerians and the international community that the tribunal would adhere to the Nigerian Constitution, other relevant statutes and “international best practices.”
