SWITZERLAND, MAY 16 – Adeyinka Grandson, President of the Young Yoruba for Freedom (YYF), a Yoruba-centric nationalistic group has stated that the mass migration of the Igbo and others into Yorubaland is the greatest problem of the Yoruba nation. He proposed that non-Yorubas residents of the South-West should not be allowed to vote in subsequent elections.

“Of the 2 million votes obtained by Atiku/Obi in Yorubaland, more than 75% came from the immigrants Igbo and the South-South people who live, work and get an education in Yorubaland. This is not in the best interest of the Yoruba nation and her citizenry.”

Adeyinka Grandson is known for his ethnocentric views and clamour for the sectional interest of the Yoruba people. In 2017, he granted an interview to Punch Newspaper, demanding for the creation of Oduduwa Republic otherwise there would be violence.

He is seen by some as the Yoruba version of Biafran activist, Nnamdi Kanu.
