Nigerians have continued to make comments on the social media after the National Working Committee(NWC) of the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC) suspended Governors Ibukunle Amosun of Ogun and Rochas Okorocha of Imo.

Today’s Echo gathers that the decision to suspend the two governors was taken during a meeting of the NWC on Friday. They were accused of anti-party activities. Both politicians have also been recommended for expulsion from the party.

The party also suspended the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Usani Uguru and the Director General of Voice of Nigeria, Osita Okechukwu.

The two governors had emerged from the APC governorship primaries last year, bruised because their preferred candidates did not win.

Determined to have their will at all cost, they sponsored their preferred to contest under the banners of other parties, refusing to support the party’s gubernatorial candidates. This caused a lot of tension in the party.

The matter to a dangerous and humiliating dimension during the presidential campaigns in Ogun State, when supporters of Amosun-backed Allied Peoples Movement(APM) candidate, Adekunle Akinlade threw objects at the National Chairman of APC, Adams Oshiomole and president Buhari

Meanwhile, many Nigerians have taken to Twitter to comment on the development as #APC NWC trends.
