As expected, President Muhammadu Buhari has emerged the presidential candidate for the ruling APC after the party’s National convention on October 7, 2018 pulling over 14.8 million votes from registered party members nationwide.
However, many Nigerians are wondering how the President could garner up to 14.8 million votes in a primary election when he won the 2015 election with just over 15.4 million votes which must have come from within and outside the APC.
Below are some of the statements from Nigerians on Twitter:
How does APC primaries work? Specifically, how did Mr Buhari get over 14 million votes? What defines a delegate and how is he/she different from a party member? Where did the 14 million votes come from if APC/Mr Buhari got a similar number in 2015 general elections?

This was done in Ekiti, Osun & repeated even during APC primaries in Lagos. With humongous sums deployed to these agents of ruin, voters will be disenfranchised. Money will also be given to the abattoir of benighted children at the BMC whose job is to justify these abhorrent act.
