Former Kano State governor and presidential aspirant under Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has called on party stakeholders to unite in order to defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2019 general elections.
Addressing party supporters at the PDP secretariat in Minna, Niger state on Wednesday, Kwankwaso called APC the common enemy.
“All contestants and other stakeholders should unite in the general interest of our party and country,” he said.
Kwankwaso also urged PDP’s leadership to be fair to all aspirants during its forthcoming primaries, by ensuring level playing field for all.
The former Kano Governor however remained silent on the issue of consensus, but promised to support whoever emerges as the party’s candidate.
Kwankwaso further said he regretted supporting President Muhammadu Buhari during the 2015 presidential election.
“We sought for change in 2015 and along the line, I realised the change only brought about more killings, hunger, under-development, poverty and unemployment.
“I will not support or remain in that type of change, that is why I am back to the PDP to change the change that has brought untold hardship on Nigerians”, he noted.
