SWITZERLAND, OCTOBER 04 – Members of the Indigenous People of Biafra(IPOB) have clashed with the police in South Africa as President Muhammadu Buhari visits the country over xenophobic attacks against Nigerians. He held a meeting with his counterpart, President Cyril Ramaphosa and addressed Nigerians in South Africa on Thursday.
Today’s Echo gathers that police fired tear gas and rubber bullets at the protesters who demanded Buhari address them in and subject himself to a DNA test.
The protesters who rocked up outside the Union Buildings in Pretoria firmly believe that Muhammadu Buhari is either a clone, or has been replaced by a man called Jubril from Sudan.
The government have been openly accused of being complicit in a conspiracy by Biafran activist Nwannekaenyi “Nnamdi” Kenny Okwu Kanu. Kanu is a leading member of the Indigenous People of Biafra, a separatist group that seeks political autonomy for the Igbo speaking people of Southern Nigeria.
