Following a directive from President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has commenced a series of consultations with Traditional rulers across the country to find solutions to the escalating insecurity in the country.
“President Buhari has asked VP Prof Osinbajo to begin a series of consultations with a number of leading traditional rulers,with the aim of securing the peace and effective maintenance of law and order across the country. The consultations have kicked off in the South West,” the Presidency tweeted on Tuesday.
Osinbajo confirmed the development via a tweet 2 days ago:
“There are significant security concerns all over the country and on the instruction of President Muhammadu Buhari, we have begun consultations with traditional rulers who are eager to contribute to the improvement of the security architecture.
Today’s Echo gathers that Osinbajo has already kicked off the tour with a trip to Ogun State where he has consulted with traditional rulers including the Akarigbo of Remo and Awujale of Ijebu.
Yesterday, I met with the Akarigbo of Remo Land, Oba Babatunde Ajayi and the Awujale of Ijebu Land, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona.
