I am here: Fayose storms EFCC office(photos)

Immediate past Ekiti State Governor and foremost critic of the Buhari regime, Ayodele Fayose arrived the office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commision(EFCC) this afternoon ready for a showdown.

Fayose was spotted a black T-shirt with the inscription’ EFCC, I’m here”, entered into the EFCC office in Wuse 2 in the company of Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, and a former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode.

Addressing journalists at the Commission, Fayose alleged that the EFCC deployed its men in his home, even when he had shown willingness to honour the Commission’s invitation.

Also speaking, Wike and Chief Mike Ozekhome (SAN), asked the Commission not to abuse the former governor’s rights.

Fani-Kayode, who also spoke with EFCC detectives, joked that he was a regular customer of the Commission and asked them not to maltreat Fayose.

While still in office, Fayose was accused of corruption by the EFCC. The agency attempted to begin his back then, but Fayose consistently maintained that he would answer no queries until he has had his last day in office.

Before turning himself in on Tuesday, he taunted public officials in President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration to submit themselves to EFCC grilling has he would do today.

“In few minutes, I will be at the EFCC Old  Office, Wuse 2,  Abuja,” he tweeted.

“I’m a man who stands by his words and I hope that after today, those President Buhari’s men that have been accused of corruption will also be bold enough to submit themselves to the @officialEFCC.”
