Speculations on President Buhari’s health have resurfaced after the presidency announced that he will be heading to the United Kingdom for a 10-day private visit.

Buhari’s who commissioned 5 grand projects, including 3 that are uncompleted in Lagos on Wednesday, is already in Maiduguru, Borno State where a public holiday has been declared. After that, he will depart from London, according to the presidency.

“Further to the official visit by President Buhari to Lagos Wednesday where he commissioned a number of projects executed by the Lagos State Government. the President is scheduled to depart for Maiduguri, the Borno State capital for another official visit Thursday,” the presidency tweeted on Thursday.

“At the end of the visit to Borno State, President Buhari will be proceeding to the United Kingdom on a private visit. He is expected to return to Nigeria on May 5, 2019,” the presidency continued.

Many Nigerians are concerned that Buhari, who spent a significant period in his presidency receiving medical treatment abroad, has gone for another health trip to the UK.

Between 2016 and 2018, Buhari travelled to London several times, sometimes staying for painfully long periods to receive treatment over an undisclosed illness. This caused a lot of instability and uncertainty in his government, especially when many Nigerians believed he was dead.
