The results of the All Progressives Congress(APC) gubernatorial primary election in Lagos State indicates that the party has over 1 million members in the state
In the results presented by the party chairman, Tunde Balogun , on Tuesday night, Sanwo – Olu polled 970 ,851 votes to defeat incumbent Governor Akinwunmi Ambode with 72 , 901 votes .
Total votes from the two aspirants in primary amounts to 1, 043, 752
The resultant consequence of the direct primary conducted is that the party can now boast of having over 1 million members in Lagos, which means it can easily score above that in the forthcoming 2019 election
In 2015, Ambode of APC polled a total of 811,994 votes to beat Agbaje of PDP, who had 659,788 votes.
It is pertinent to note that APC won the 2015 governorship election in Lagos State with a number of votes less than that of Sanwo Olu alone in this primary.
