Guber polls: Widespread violence in Rivers as soldiers reportedly go on rampage(videos)

As collation of results continue at ward levels after the just-concluded gubernatorial elections, there are reports of widespread violence in Rivers state as soldiers are alleged to have stormed several polling units, forcefully carting away ballot boxes and leaving death and destruction on their trail.

Many of these accusation are accompanied by videos and photos.

According to Oraye St. Franklyn, a member of Amnesty international, Armed military officers attached to Chris oyirinda Amadi, an APC chieftain invaded a polling unit in Ward 1 unit 003 Adanta, Isiokpo KELGA of Rivers State and carted away ballot boxes and result sheets

Voting materials for Ward 6, Isaka in Okrika of Rivers State were allegedly diverted by soldiers in a military gunboat to the creek and the youth corpers forced to thumbprint for AAC, Green Party and Labour Party.

In Akoko Toru, where soldiers reportedly killed several people during the presidential election, soldiers were accused of helping APC thugs hijack election materials.
