Guber poll: Imo collation officer arrested live on TV for doctoring results

Police arrested a local government collation officer and his assistant during the live announcement of gubernatorial election results in Imo State.

While announcing the results, it was discovered that the numbers he announced were not in tally with the results collated at the local government level.

the Imo State Returning Officer, Prof Francis Okonta the Vice Chancellor of Michael Okpara University, Anambra questioned the collation officer’s results and realized they contained figures that have been arbitrarily added.

The Returning Officer immediately cancelled the results from the Ward in question and handed over the compromised collation officer to the police.
