SWITZERLAND, JULY 17 – The federal government is set to commence a test run of the newly completed Warri-Itakpe rail line.

According to the Ministry of Transportation, a test run of the new coaches assigned to the Warri-Itakpe rail under the directives of president Muhammadu Buhari, is set to commence.

“In spite of massive short fall in the income of the Federal govt and the extra financial commitments due to the unforseen COVID-19 pandemic, developmental projects across the nation, are going on as planned,”Laureta Onochie, personal assistant to the president on social media, tweeted on Wednesday.

“In a short while, we should be able to hop on the train at Abuja, and arrive in comfort at Agbor or Warri in Delta State, via Uromi, Agenebode, Auchi, Itakpe Okene, , Ajaokuta, etc.

“Later, when the Coastal line which connects 10 states with 22 Stations is completed, same journey would be possible by train from Lagos to Calabar passing through Ogun, Ondo, Edo, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, Abia, and Akwa Ibom,”Onochie added.
