FG places Ekweremadu, Uzodinma, David Mark, 36 others on travel ban

The Special Presidential Investigation Panel for the Recovery of Public Funds (SPIPRPP) has submitted the names of 39 alleged treasury looters to the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) for possible travel ban.

Chairman of the panel, Chief Okoi Obono-Obla who disclosed this in Abuja, yesterday said among people affected are the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma, former Senate President, David Mark, former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole, and the Tumsah brothers, among others.

“The president is not interfering in the anti-graft war,”Obla said, adding, “He told me I should resist any interference from every quarter.”

“We have gone into area where others have left untouched, “ Obla said referring to the Panama issue.

“We have gone into investigating the issue of the Panama Papers. We have found out that many Nigerian public officers have properties abroad and we are in collaboration with the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) to unravel the issue of the Panama papers, “ Obla added.

The affected persons were alleged to have abused their offices and looted the nations commonwealth.
