SWITZERLAND, MAY 19 – The Federal Government has restated its position that the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is planning to sabotage the adminstration of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Lai Mohammed, Information Minister, had on Wednesday claimed intelligent reports at his disposal showed the opposition party is planning to make the country ungovernable for Mr Buhari.
At the 2019 edition of the Annual Ramadan Lecture held at Oro, Kwara State, the Minister declared that the opposition were trying “reverse” democracy.
Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and his party were those fingered as the arrowheads of the plan.
According to Lai Mohammed, Atiku and the PDP were carrying out acts to undermine the Buhari government just to heat up the polity.
Mr Abubakar, a former vice president, denied knowledge of the alleged plan, saying even those who employed Mr Mohammed know him as a liar.
Prominent PDP chieftain and government critic, Fani-Kayode on Friday, said the Buhari-led government are crying ‘wolf’.
He said, “The Presidency, the military and the DSS ALL claim that “some people” are planning a coup.
“Why do you keep crying wolf? You stole a mandate and now you are shivering with fear, hiding under your beds and shouting “coup is coming!
“The Bible says “the wicked have no peace.”
But the Information Minister has restated his position adding that the government is in possession of evidence to back up its claim.
