Nigerians are calling for the resignation of the Head of Logistics for the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC), Prof Okechukwu Ibeanu, whom they hold responsible for the lapses leading to the postponement of the 2019 elections.
INEC postponed the elections on Saturday morning, few hours before voting was scheduled to start, disappointing millions of Nigerians. The Presidential, Senate and House of Representatives elections have been rescheduled for February 23, while the Governorship and House of Assembly elections have been rescheduled for March 2.
Okechukwu Ibeanu is a Professor of Political Science and was also Dean, Faculty of the Social Sciences at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He was also special rapporteur of the United Nations Human Rights Council on the adverse effects of illicit movement and dumping of toxic waste on human rights.
Professor Ibeanu was previously programme officer of the MacArthur Foundation overseeing its human rights and Niger Delta programmes. A former Fellow of the United Nations University, Tokyo, he has also been a visiting scholar at Queen Elizabeth House, Oxford University, and the Woodrow Wilson Center, Washington D.C.

Was Amina Zakari removed as INEC's head of Logistics because of to incompetence? Why was she replaced by Prof Okechukwu Ibeanu who is not as experienced or competent as Mrs Zakari? Can we explain the monumental disaster that might have taken place on Saturday?

It makes me laugh when @OfficialPDPNig try to act the victim in this election when actually they are the ones running around making desperate moves to frustrate and hijack this elections. #INECIbeanuMustGo

PDP cannot win any election without rigging & stealing/snatching ballot boxes. Rigging/stealing is what they know. It's a shame to see people that are meant to be in prison are those contesting & plotting to take over the affairs of this great country #INECIbeanuMustGo pic.twitter.com/7zbATzrelv
