President Muhammadu Buhari has re-emphasised his confidence in All Progressive Congress (APC) and its ‘change’ mantra following the conclusion of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting which held today, Tuesday October 31st, 2017. The president took to his twitter account to celebrate all stakeholders in APC for their support and he also listed some of their achievements so far in his two years in office.
Buhari says “The APC is proud of our achievements in the last 2 years: the fight against Boko Haram, Agric Revolution, Improved Power, Peace in the Delta”. He also mentioned that although there are still a lot of challenges ahead, his leadership will not relax.
Recall that Buhari was in a closed-door meeting with some APC chieftains on Monday, at the Presidential Villa, in preparation for the NEC meeting. The caucus meeting was said to have discussed issues regarding the state of the party and preparations for the forthcoming elections including the 2019 general elections.
Today’s Echo will provide more details of the NEC meeting soon.

I know that our supporters are also very eager for these Board appointments to be announced. By God’s grace they will be announced soon.

Nevertheless, we will not rest on these achievements. There are still quite a number of challenges before us, and we are well aware of these

I must therefore thank all stakeholders, as well as a number of non-APC members who have consistently risen above petty partisan interests.

I am aware that it is sometimes easier to manage failure than to manage success—especially the kind of big success the APC achieved in 2015.

I have a long list of people I would like to thank: our Party leadership, the leadership of the National Assembly, our State Governors.
