Buhari Presides over Virtual FEC Meeting, Unveils Gambari as New Chief of Staff

SWITZERLAND, MAY 13 – The Federal Executive Council on Wednesday, held its maiden virtual meeting at the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

According to reports, the meeting was presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari who ‘unveiled’ Ibrahim Gambari as his new Chief of Staff.

The unprecedented virtual meeting had in attendance, Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, and some of the cabinet members including the Head of Service, Folashade Yemi-Esan, who participated in the meeting directly from their respective offices

It was gathered that the meeting which began at 11.22 am, was occasioned by the prevailing coronavirus pandemic in the country, and was conducted in line with the basic COVID-19 protocol of social distancing.

The former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Professor Ibrahim Gambari, whose name went viral in the traditional and new media outfits as the new Chief of Staff to the President, was seen at the venue of the meeting.
