SWITZERLAND, JUNE 21 President Muhammadu Buhari has called for peace in neighbouring Benin Republic as the country grapples with crisis in the aftermath of its parliamentary elections.
Buhari stressed the importance of peace in neighbouring Benin Republic during a visit by the country’s president, Patrice Talon on Thursday in Abuja.
“Speaking at an audience with the President of Benin Republic, Patrice Talon at the State House, President Buhari emphasised the imperative of good neighbourliness, while pledging Nigeria’s support towards efforts to re-establish political stability in her western neighbour,” the Presidency said.
President Talon, who came to congratulate Buhari on his re-election and successful inauguration, also briefed on the current political situation in his country.
The two leaders held a closed door meeting to discuss pertinent urgent issues.
