SWITZERLAND, MARCH 27 – The latest high profile personality to test positive for the rampaging coronavirus is the United Kingdom Prime Minister, Boris Johnson.
Johnson announced on Friday morning that he has been diagnosed with the virus. He also made a video, which was posted on Twitter.
He said he has developed mild symptoms and will self isolate in his office at No 10, Downing Street
“I am now self-isolating, but I will continue to lead the government’s response via video-conference as we fight this virus,” he said.
The UK is one of the 10 worst affected countries with over 11,000 confirmed coronavirus cases and 578 related deaths as at March 27.
Worldwide, over 540,000 people have been infected, with close to 25,000 deaths.
