The Nigerian Senate has approved the 2018 budget of over N346.513 billion for the Niger Delta Development Commission.
The Nigerian upper legislative chamber approved the budget during its plenary sitting on Thursday.
Senator Peter Nwaoboshi presented the report of the committee on the NDDC 2018 budget to the house and the budget was approved shortly after.
“The Senate hereby approves the 2018 NDDC Budget in the sum of Three hundred and forty six billion, five hundred and Thirteen million four hundred and sixty thousand eighty two naira only,” the Nigerian Senate said in a report on Thursday.
The Niger Delta Development Commission is a federal government agency established by Nigerian president Olusegun Obasanjo in the year 2000 with the sole mandate of developing the oil-rich Niger Delta region of Nigeria.
