SWITZERLAND, NOVEMBER 07 – The Federal Government of Nigeria has further tightened its border closure policy with a new directive to suspend supply of petroleum products to filling stations near the border.
The new order was contained in a memo released by the Nigerian Customs, and seen by Today’s Echo’s correspondent.
The Memo titled ‘Suspension of Petroleum Products Supply to Filling Stations Within 20 Kilometres of All Borders’ reads:
“The Comptoller-General of Customs has directed that henceforth, no petroleum product no matter the tank size is permitted to be discharged in any filling station within 20 kilometres to the border.
“Consequently, you are all to ensure immediate and strict compliance, please.”
