- Thousands out in Abuja, Lagos, Calabar, Jos, Osogbo, Akure
SWITZERLAND, DECEMBER 07 – There is palpable tension in Nigeria as the EndSARS protests resume today across the country. Today’s Echo gathers that there are protests in Abuja, Ondo, Jos, Lagos, and Calabar.
In Jos North, women trooped out in black attires chanting. In Abuja, thousands of residents marched along the road to demand for justice and fairness. In Lagos, a crowd is already converging at the burnt out Lekki Toll Gate where the military allegedly shot at protesters, killing many during the first round of protests in October. In Osogbo, Osun State, youths stormed the state House of Assembly demanding to be heard.
Some of the reasons protesters cited for resuming include the seeming insensitivity of government to some of the demands made in the first round of protests and despite government promises, most of the reforms demanded have not been implemented.
