SWITZERLAND, DECEMBER 17 – President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday signed the 2020 budget into law. He signed the important document on his 77th birthday.
He assented to the N10.6trillion package in his office at the presidential villa, Abuja.
The ceremony was witnessed among others, by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Senate President Ahmed Lawan and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila
” It is my pleasant duty, today, on my 77th birthday, to sign the 2020 Appropriation Bill into law. I’m pleased that the National Assembly has expeditiously passed this Bill. Our Federal Budget is now restored to a January-December implementation cycle,” Buhari Tweeted on Tuesday afternoon.
At 3.37pm today December 17, 2019, President @MBuhari signed the 2020 Appropriation Bill into Law. This is the earliest Budget signing since the return of democracy in 1999.
