SWITZERLAND, MAY 27 – President Muhammadu Buhari has signed the 2019 appropriation bill of N8.91 trillion into law. The National Assembly had passed the budget into law after increasing the budget size from its initial N8.83 trillion
Presidential aide on the New Media, Bashir Ahmad confirmed this on Monday morning.
Recall Today’s Echo had reported that the Nigerian Senate passed the 2019 Appropriation bill after passing three readings during its plenary on April 30, 2019, approving a sum of N8.916 trillion as the budget for the 2019 fiscal year.
The amount passed by the apex legislative chamber is, N86 billion higher than the N8.83 trillion initially submitted to the National Assembly in December 2018 for approval by President Muhammadu Buhari.
