SWITZERLAND, JULY 23- President Muhammadu Buhari has sent the much-awaited full list of Ministerial nominees to the Senate on Tuesday.
The 43-member list includes some first timers on Buhari’s cabinet such as Former Osun State governor Rauf Aregbesola, Senator Godswill Akpabio, former Bayelsa governor Timpreye Silva and Festus Keyamo. It also contains old timers like Lai Mohammed, Babatunde Fashola, Ogbonnaya Onu and Rotimi Amaechi.
Today’s Echo gathers that the name of Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachikwu is conspicuously absent on the list. Kachikwu’s spot from Delta State has been taken by Festus Keyamo who was the spokesman for Buhari’s presidential re-election campaign.
The list was sent to the senate on Monday evening via executive communication and is expected to be read on the floor of the senate on Tuesday.
The senate, which will be proceeding on a two-month recess on Thursday, is expected to screen the nominees.
Contrary to speculations, only about 12 ministers will be re-appointed from the former cabinet.
