United States-based medical firm Medicare has donated medical equipment worth $4.5m to the Ondo State Government.
The new medical equipment are meant to aid the delivery of Qualitative health services in the state.
Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, disclosed the equipments will be distributed to the medical facilities in the 18 local government areas of the state, included hospital beds and incubators.
Akeredolu said, “We are committed to providing quality health care for the people of our state. We got the multi-million dollar new medical equipment from the USA for free and we will ensure that the equipment gets to the grassroots.
“All our medical centres in the local government areas will get their share of the equipment.
“I believe this will go a long way in addressing the challenges we are having in our health centres across the state.”
The state Commissioner for Health, Dr Wahab Adegbenro, said the state government had also partnered a Chinese company to set up a herbal centre in the state to promote herbal medicine.
