SWITZERLAND, JULY 09 -Governor Rotimi Akeredolu on Tuesday, hosted a special meeting of top members of the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC) from the South-West in Akure, Ondo State.
Although details of the meeting are not out yet, discussions on plans for regional development may be a significant part.
The meeting may also be connected with the recent spate of insecurity in the southwest, including the recent kidnapping of over 20 travellers by suspected Fulani herdsmen. The rumoured presidential ambition of APC national leader, Bola Tinubu may also be on the table.
National leader of the Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu was received at the Akure airport by the Governor Akeredolu of Ondo State. He was accompanied by Chief Bisi Akande, Olusegun Osoba, Niyi Adebayo. Also present at the meeting was Ekiti state governor and chairman of the Nigerian Governors Forum, Kayode Fayemi.
“Today is all about the APC. We are grateful to the Party Leadership in the South West for coming to Ondo State to show support for us & our great party. We all know the importance of building a united front for the days ahead & rest assured, will continue to work together,” an excited Akeredolu tweeted on Tuesday afternoon.
“It was a family gathering today and we can only expect positive results from our engagements; all in an effort to drive the #DevelopOndo project and ultimately contribute to our regional growth and development,” Akeredol added.
