Vice President of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo has finally revealed the cause of the crash of his chopper on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Kabba in Kogi State.
On Sunday, while addressing participants at a dialogue session organised by Good Leadership Initiative, at Pistis Conference Centre, Lekki, Lagos, the VP appreciated everyone for their concern and expressed that the crash was not as a result of a mechanical fault.
Talking about the safety measures being taken to forestall similar occurrences in the future, he said:
“The truth is that I can’t say for certain what will happen as a general rule, but yesterday’s (Saturday) incident was not a mechanical problem, it was more of a weather or environmental problem that caused the crash. It will be difficult to say what anyone will do about those kind of situations.
“I think that, generally speaking, these kind of things occur but God is Almighty and He is sovereign. I believe that the incident demonstrated that God has a plan and purpose for each and everyone of us and it is not yet time”.
Immediately after the crash, Caverton Offshore Support Group Plc, the public limited company holding Caverton Helicopters Limited and Caverton Marine Limited, released another helicopter to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
