It is not an insult, Osun state does not have my money: Tinubu
In the run-up to the Osun State governorship election, national leader of the APC and former Lagos state governor, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu has indicated that the state does not have enough money for him to ‘steal’.
Tinubu said this during a courtesy visit to the palace of Ataoja of Oshogbo, Kabiyesi, Oba Olanipekun to canvass support for the APC’s candidate, Oyetola Isiaka.
At some point in the palace, Tinubu turned his back on the Monarch and said:
“I won’t look at Kabiyesi’s face while I say this. They might be saying tha Jagaban, Asiwaju is imposing a candidate on the people of osun. I told them, how much money do you people even have? Kabiyesi, I am not insulting you but Osun state doesn’t have my money.(sic)”
This statement has sparked a series of reactions from Nigerians on social media and Tinubu is currently trending on Twitter. Below are some of the reactions:
“You don’t have money in Osun for him (APC Osun Guber Candidate, Gboyega Oyetola) to steal.
Some say I’m interested in your money that’s why I brought a stranger to you but how much does Osun even have? Osun doesn’t have my money.”

Tinubu claimed at the Osun rally that he was richer than the state and no anti-corruption fighter has asked how an ordinary former governor can make such a claim.
Oh! He's not atiku or saraki

For many years,APC governors complained about Tinubu selecting candidates by fiat or through primaries heavily biased to his candidates. It is ironic- or maybe it is not-that they are now even doing far worse in their states & are killing the enthusiasm of young candidates.
