APC national convention: Buhari emerges presidential candidate with over 14 million votes
President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been declared the candidate representing APC for the 2019 presidential election with 14,842,072 Million.
The party tweeted, very early this morning :
“President Muhammadu Buhari won the APC Presidential Ticket with 14,842,072 million votes. It’s now official, he is the Presidential Candidate of our great party for the 2019 elections”
The national chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomole reiterated that the party has what it takes to defeat the main opposition PDP and other parties in the upcoming election.
” We’ll challenge their candidates on their integrity, records, background & we will challenge them fact for fact, figures for figures & Nigerians will decide. This election will not be based on religion or tribalism”
President Buhari has already accepted to be the presidential candidate, delivering an acceptance speech in the early hours of Sunday.
“It is with a deep sense of humility that I accept the nomination of our great party, the All Progressives Congress, to be its candidate and flagbearer in the 2019 Presidential election. I thank you all for your support and guidance, and for staying committed to the Change Agenda.”
“Let us all join hands to ensure the continuation of the good work of the APC Government, to 2023 — and beyond! Change has come to stay in Nigeria. Long live APC, long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria!”
Buhari will be seeking re-election and will be facing a candidate that emerges from the ongoing PDP national convention as well as dozens of other contestants.
