SWITZERLAND, MARCH 11 – The Lagos State Government has announced that a section of the Eko bridge, which links the Lagos Mainland to the Island, is closed for repair.
According to a statement released on Tuesday evening by the Lagos State Traficc Management Agency(LASTMA), entry into Eko Bridge or Second Mainland Bridge from Funsho Williams Avenue will be closed from Tuesday, 10 March, 2020 to facilitate the road work. This is following the repairs of the worn out bearing on the Bridge around Costain axis inwards Apongbon/ Lagos Island.
This will affect the way Lagos residents commute in the following days.
According to LASTMA, traffic has been diverted as follows:
FROM ALAKA TO LAGOS ISLAND / APONGBON;
Take Iponri to Costain and connect destination through Eko Bridge,FROM ALAKA SERVICE LANES, take Bode Thomas to Eric Moore Road to Abebe Village (Nigerian Breweries) to Costain and link destination through Eko Bridge,
FROM STADIUM TO SHITTA ROUND ABOUT to Adeniran Ogunsanya Road to Bode Thomas to Eric Moore to Abebe Village (Nigerian Breweries) to Costain and link destination through Eko Bridge,
Take Tejuosho to Yaba to Murtala Mohammed Way to Oyingbo -Iddo -Otto to Idumota Bridge or Carter Bridge and connect destination,
From AGEGE MOTOR ROAD/ or IKORODU ROAD ;
Take Jibowu to Herbert Macaulay Way to Adekunle to 3rd Mainland Bridge and navigate your journey.
