Rivers election: Man escapes death as bullet pierces his home door

A man escaped death by the whiskers during the Rivers state bye election on Saturday that was marred by violence.

According to the Facebook user, Dora Wobo a stray bullet fired during yesterday’s bye-election in Rivers State, pierced through the wall of her father’s bedroom but luckily didn’t hit him.

The bye-election for Poet Harcourt Constituency 3 in the Rivers State House of Assembly, was marred by heavy gunshots, thuggery and snatching of electoral materials. It has since been postponed.

Thugs had unleashed mayhem, beating innocent persons many of whom were critically injured.
