The police and rescue workers have intensified search for new Cardiff City football signing, Emiliano Sala, who was on board a missing aircraft flying from Nante, France to Cardiff, Wales.
Argentinian born Sala was signed on January 19 by Premier League team, Cardiff from French side, Nantes on three and a half year deal for a club record transfer fee reported to be £15 million. He was on his return trip from Nantes after saying goodbye to old teammates when his plane was reported missing.
The aircraft had gone missing off Alderney on 21 January. It was confirmed later the same day that he was a passenger on the missing aircraft
An audio message the player sent to one of his friends via WhatsApp , shortly before the plane went missing has been discovered.
According to the Mirror, Emiliano Sala complained about a plane that looked like it was “about to fall apart” in a chilling final message before his disappearance.
Police confirmed a “number of floating objects” were found in the water before Tuesday’s search was suspended, although rescuers were unable to ascertain if they were from the missing aircraft.
John Fitzgerald, chief officer of the Channel Island Air Search, said a cushion and bent piece of metal were among the objects recovered.
