The Nigerian Army has said that it is making sedulous efforts to ensure the return of IDPs to their original places of abode, particularly the Lake Chad areas. This is to enable the populace return to a life of normalcy as well as the desired social economic activities.
A statement released on the twitter handle of the force, noted that in furtherance of the aforementioned, the Chief of Army Staff, represented by Chief of Civil Military Affairs, Maj Gen Angbazo in conjunction with the Commander Operation, Lafiya Dole recently visited and communicated to the Governors of Yobe and Borno States to solicit their supports in this direction.
Also, the statement added that strategically, the conduct of OperationLASTHOLD’ will facilitate the restoration of fishing, farming and other economic activities in the Lake Chad Basin. it is the desire of the Nigerian Army that all citizens of the country enjoy equal peace and freedom irrespective of their region
