Breaking: Many feared dead as another building collapses in Lagos

There are reports that a building has collapsed at Egerton square, Ita Arin, Lagos Island, with many occupants trapped inside.

According to media reports, four people have been rescued from the collapsed building, which reportedly collapsed some few hours ago. Also, rescue operations have begun immediately on the site.

The four people were rescued by the firefighters at the scene and they have been taken to the hospital for medical treatments

Today’s Echo gathers that the build collapsed during the demolition of another building by officials of the Lagos State Building Control Agency.

The Director of the Lagos State Fire Service, Rasaki Musbau said:

“Our men at the site of the collapsed building reported that it was a partial collapse. And they have been able to evacuate four person alive from the rubble. The victims have also been taken to the hospital for treatment”

Today’s Echo gathers that this is the third building collapse in one week and the second in Lagos Island.

Last week, 10 people, including children died after a school building collapsed at Ita Faji , Lagos Island
