About 21,000 Children Targeted in Lagos Free Health Outreach

SWITZERLAND, AUGUST 2 -The Lagos State Government is targeting about 21,000 children in an upcoming free health screening initiative tagged Healthy Bee.

This was revealed during the flag-off of the Healthy Bee Project by Governor Jide Sanwo-Olu The project is an idea of BOSKOH Lagos Healthcare Mission International conceptualized by the Governor and his deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat

The initiative is to provide mental health services, orthopaedic services i.e. correction of bone deformity, pediatric services e.g. hernia, management and other services.

The screening exercise will cover visual and hearing problems that can impact negatively on child’s development.

The healthcare services that would be rendered under this project will also include surgery for children within the ages 0-12 years.

The project further complements the T.H.E.M.E.S agenda of the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Obafemi Hamzat which places emphasis on “Health

About 21,000 children are targeted under this free health mission in addition to the provision of free eyeglasses for children.

This project also presents an opportunity for parents and residents who ordinarily will not be able to afford the medical expenses of these healthcare services
